Demonstrate how the technical and aesthetic properties of the media components meet the client brief (D2)
Advert 1 - Spotify Advert:
For my Spotify ad, I used word to create the script and then Davinci Resolve to record my audio and place the happy music in it. I got the music from a copyright free website called Pixabay. It was exactly what I wanted and portrayed how the ad should be perfectly. I recorded the audio using my microphone and emphasised my voice to make it engaging. I made sure that the sound bed is low in the mix so that the VoiceOver can be heard clearly. I kept it to a shorter time frame so it can be used on Spotify with no problems.
Advert 2 - Social Media Profile:
I decided to write about my USPs in my bio - Woodlands Trust and the product being environmentally friendly. This shows the audience that clicks onto my profile will be the first thing they see. Due to the format of Instagram the font is fixed.
The name of the account is the same as the company name "Knight Organics". This will catch the audience's attention immediately and will be able to think about soap when they see it. I capitalised the start of the words as that is really the only freedom I have with the name of the account. Due to fixed colour schemes, I cannot change any therefore, not being able to differ too much from other accounts.
The profile picture is the logo of the company and since it is a PNG I can put a background on it.
Advert 3 - Magazine Advert:
Using Affinity photo, I created my magazine advert. First, I found some copyright free images. I took the wood background and imported into my document. I heightened the mid-tones to make the brown look a bit richer to give a sense of luxury. I followed this up by importing the Knight Organics soap, putting a shadow underneath it so there’s the sense of depth and to make it feel like it is on the wooden background; I also centred it as this makes it the first thing the audience sees, getting the idea of what the company makes. I then imported my copyright-free flowers to bring in a contrasting bright colour. I did this to be both eye catching and also to link to the idea of nature, as part of the USP of the brand is the fact it is all natural. Finally, I added in my text using a serif font to let the audience know just how good for both the consumer and the environment, the soap is. I ensured all the text and images were large enough to be seen clearly and focused on nature and the environment. I also added that we donate to Woodlands Trust Charity at the bottom to make the audience feel more inclined to buy as they would be helping themselves, the company and the charity. The colours aren't too harsh to look at however, they still contrast themselves greatly, making it nice to look at and is more likely to make the user look at everything on the magazine as everything stands out from each other.
Advert 4 - Billboard:
I used Pixlr to design my billboard. I used a different image for the wood, soap and flower. I wrote "KO" for Knight Organics. All the images are royalty free.
The aesthetics are similar to the magazine advert. The font is a Serif font and since there isn't much space I only wrote about the goat's milk - putting a border on the text and shadow too. The soap and flower are either side to show it as people travel past the billboard.
